Genesis Chapter 5
1-5

1

¹ This is the record of the descendants of Adam. When God created man, he made him in the likeness of God;

he created them male and female. When they were created, he blessed them and named them "man."

Adam was one hundred and thirty years old when he begot a son in his likeness, after his image; and he named him Seth.

Adam lived eight hundred years after the birth of Seth, and he had other sons and daughters.

The whole lifetime of Adam was nine hundred and thirty years; then he died.

Reflection: I love how important each person was in God's eyes. The account is here. I am sure that in His Book He has the "record" of each soul, to whom they came from and who they married and begot. I love that God so loved us that He created us in His image and likeness. We are like Him. How much we love that our children resemble us. When one does something that is like me I smile and know that part of me is in them. God must do the same when viewing each of His children and how sad it is when His child turns that image and uses it against Him. Dear Heavenly Father, please forgive me my sins, and help me to live each day (whether it be to the age of 41 or the the age of 930 years old like Adam) for you.
